You may have heard, there have recently been some big changes made to Viralheat – features have been added, a new free plan announced, and the introduction of LinkedIn integration. With the already robust line-up, Viralheat has also expanded the publishing feature to help you better manage your social media accounts. What you may not know is what each of the additions are and how you can use them to your benefit.
In this post, you will get an overview of a few of the new features – URL Shortening, Rich Media Integration, and Publishing History. We’ve also included step by step instructions on how to use each feature.
To start us off, we’ll take a look at URL Shortening. With character limits and studies on the effective length of posts, URL Shortening with Bit.ly integration can help you to optimize the length of each tweet or post for publishing to your social media pages. Shortening your links will allow for more characters and a greater potential for retweets and shares amongst people’s networks.
To use the URL Shortening feature, you’ll need to open the Publishing Tool. Once you have added an account to publish to and entered a link into the text portion of the publishing box, you’ll notice a link icon appear in the bottom left hand corner, by clicking on this icon you can toggle back and forth between shortened or unshortened link within your post. After adding additional text or images, simply click the publishing button to post to the selected account.
The introduction of Rich Media or simply put, the ability to add images to posts, is new to Viralheat. Updates with images help your posts get much more visibility than posts without images.
To add the image, you’ll need to open the Publishing Box and select the image icon at the bottom corner of the box. A drag and drop area will appear where you can include a photo. When the image is added successfully a preview of the image will appear in the box. Click the publish button when you are satisfied with your post.
